The business unit AIM of Austro Control GmbH is responsible for the provision of aeronautical data for Austria. Data collection, administration and provision has to be according international quality requirements. To ensure data quality, ITV Geomatik AG analyses the workflow and systems to process aeronautical information taking into account these requirements and identifies actions to take compared with the requirements. Based on this analysis Austro Control is able to start optimising processes and to implement the actions to take.

ITV Geomatik AG organised a study tour within the Cadastre Project Guatemala for the management of the offices for cadastral surveying and for geography of Guatemala and some members of the Guatemalan parliament, which are affected by this theme. The goal of the study tour was to familiarise them with the Swiss register and cadastre system. 

Therefore the participants visited

• on federal level the Fed. Office of Topography and the Fed. Directorate of Cadastral Surveying in Wabern
• on the level canton the Public Office of Cadastral Surveying and Land Registration Zug, which is responsible for the tasks of the municipalities too
• on private level the Surveying company SWR AG in Schlieren
• and from point of view of education, which is also part of the project, the Centre of Geomatics Education in Zurich

With this study tour the visitors from Guatemala gained a in depth view of the organisation, processes, parties etc. of the Swiss Cadastre and Register system. With this knowledge the establishment of a cadastre and register organisation in their country should be facilitated.

Since the beginning of this year a new system is live. The new LIS is not a stand-alone solution but interacts with the national cadastre network of all land offices, which is the main information infrastructure of the country in this area.

ITV Geomatik – leading the implementation of the first LIS in Budapest as a consultant for seco already – was coaching the customer and was responsible for replacement of the old LIS, from the description of requirements until the – successful - implementation. One of the important issue was the data migration where ITV accomplished significant tasks.

With the new system the land administration office has the possibility to provide new services for their customers. Furthermore it is today possible to migrate all offices to the new system in a short time period.

FOEN mandated ITV Geomatik AG in 2006 with the elaboration of the specification and the architecture for the new system. In December 2006 the steering board approved the realisation according the specification. The realisation started in January 2007.
